I. Technical Classification of 3D Guardrail Systems
3D Guardrails are not a one-size-fits-all solution. At Pauleen, we engineer our fences to meet specific environmental, security, and aesthetic demands. They are primarily classified based on four key criteria:

1. Material and Fabrication:

Low-Carbon Steel Wire (S235JR / S275JR): This is the industry standard for its exceptional tensile strength and structural integrity. Our panels are fabricated from high-quality steel wire, formed through a precise cold-rolling process to ensure dimensional accuracy and consistency.

Hot-Dip Galvanization (HDG): To combat corrosion, our standard offering involves post-fabrication Hot-Dip Galvanizing. This process coats the entire steel structure in a layer of zinc, typically with a coating weight of 60-100 μm, providing sacrificial anode protection for decades. We adhere to international standards such as ASTM A123.

Powder Coating + HDG: For enhanced durability and color options, we apply a thermosetting epoxy-polyester powder coating over the galvanized layer. This creates a robust, double-protection system (HDG + Coating) that is highly resistant to UV radiation, chipping, and scratching. Colors are available in standard RAL codes (e.g., RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, RAL 6005 Moss Green).

PVC Coating (Polyvinyl Chloride): An alternative to powder coating, a PVC layer is applied, often in green or black, providing a thicker, more resilient, and tactile surface. This is ideal for residential areas or locations requiring a softer aesthetic without compromising security.

2. Panel Design and Configuration:

Mesh Aperture: Standard mesh sizes include 50mm x 50mm, 50mm x 100mm, and 100mm x 100mm. The choice affects both security level (smaller apertures offer greater intrusion deterrence) and transparency.

Wire Gauge (Diameter): Panels are manufactured using wires typically ranging from 3.0mm to 5.0mm in diameter. Heavier gauge wires are specified for high-security applications.

Bending Angle: The signature "3D" effect is achieved through a continuous, high-precision bending process that creates a rigid, triangular corrugation. The angle and depth of this bend are critical to the panel's inherent strength and anti-climb properties.

3. Structural Integration:

Fence Panels: The core component, manufactured as modular units for easy installation and replacement.

Line Posts and End Posts: Fabricated from robust steel sections (typically U-shaped or square hollow sections - SHS), designed to anchor the fence system. Posts are set in concrete footings for ultimate stability.

Accessories: This includes tension wires, barbed wire (concertina tape), and various clamping systems (e.g., universal clamps, bolt-down clamps) that ensure a secure and integrated assembly.

4. Application-Specific Classification:

High-Security Fencing: Incorporates heavier gauges, smaller meshes, and is often topped with anti-climb barriers.

Highway & Road Safety Barriers: Engineered for impact resistance and high visibility, often meeting specific national transportation authority standards.

Industrial and Perimeter Fencing: Balances security, durability, and cost-effectiveness for factories, warehouses, and utility sites.

Decorative & Residential Fencing: Focuses on aesthetic appeal with powder-coated or PVC-coated finishes, suitable for housing complexes, parks, and schools.

II. Multifunctional Properties of 3D Guardrails
The 3D Fence system is engineered to be far more than a simple barrier. Its functions are multifaceted:

1. Superior Perimeter Security and Intrusion Deterrence:
The rigid, three-dimensional structure and the small, anti-climb mesh design create a formidable physical and psychological barrier. The V-shaped corrugations make it extremely difficult to gain a foothold, effectively deterring unauthorized access and vandalism.

2. Exceptional Structural Integrity and Impact Resistance:
The 3D profiling acts as a series of continuous reinforcement ribs, granting the panel immense mechanical strength and rigidity. This design provides outstanding resistance to impact, compression, and wind loads, ensuring long-term structural stability.

3. Optimized Corrosion Resistance and Long Service Life:
Our standard HDG + Powder Coating duplex system offers unparal

leled protection. The zinc underlayer provides cathodic protection, while the polymer topcoat acts as a barrier against moisture, chemicals, and UV degradation. This results in a significantly extended service life, even in harsh coastal or industrial environments, with warranties often exceeding 15-20 years.

4. Clear Demarcation and Enhanced Safety:
The fence provides a clear, unambiguous boundary line for properties, industrial zones, and high-risk areas like highways and railways. This helps to prevent accidental intrusions and enhances overall site safety management.

5. Aesthetic Versatility and Environmental Integration:
Unlike stark, utilitarian fencing, 3D guardrails offer a modern, streamlined appearance. The availability of various colors (via powder coating) allows the fence to blend with or complement its surroundings, from urban landscapes to natural environments.

6. Ease of Installation and Low Maintenance:
The modular panel-and-post system allows for rapid installation on varied terrains, reducing labor time and costs. Once installed, the robust surface treatment requires minimal upkeep-typically just occasional rinsing with water to maintain appearance.
